Jharkhand governor offers 'jala-abhishek' at Deoghar and Basukinath

Deoghar, Aug 14 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu today offered prayers at Baba
Baidynath Dham temple located in this district during the auspicious month of Shravan and
later also visited the control room keeping an eye on the mela premises.
Addressing the kanwariyas on the occasion, she said, more efforts will be made so that in
the coming years much better facilities can be provided to devotees who visit Deoghar in
the month of Shravan and they can easily offered ‘jala-abhishek’.
She said the Shravani Mela has managed to make a name for it self at the world level and
in the years to come it will have its distinct identity on the globe.
The governor said in her prayers to Baba Badiyanath she has wished for peace, prosperity
and progress of Jharkhand and also prayed that many god take the people and the state further
on the path of progress.
Ms Murmu said this year more than 300 CCTV cameras have been installed to keep an eye
on the happenings in the mela premises and said the efforts made will be very beneficial in
future also for the administration.
The governor said that Baidyanath Dham which was among the 12 Jyotrilings in the nation
is a center of faith and belief for the people.
She said during the auspicious month of Shravan kanwariyas from across the country
undertake the difficult journey from Sultanganj to Deoghar to offer ‘jala-abhishek’ to Lord
Shiva and despite such a long journey one never finds them tired as they are full of
enthusiasm.
Those who were also present on the occasion included Deoghar DC Rahul Kumar Sinha,
SP Narendra Kumar Singh and other senior officials of the Deoghar district administration.
Later the Governor reached Dumka where she offered prayers at Baba Basukinath
Temple located under Jarmundi block.
She also went through the arrangements which the district administration has put in for
the kanwariays and also saw the media center which has been put at the venue.
The governor witnessed the cultural programme which was beings staged at Nandhi
Chowk and interacted with the kanwariyas.
She said the state government has made all the best possible arrangements so that
the devotees do not feel any trouble and can easily offer their ‘jala-abhishek’.
Ms Murmu said in the years to come the facilities in Basukinath Dham will be further
increased and prayed to Lord Shiva to fulfill all the desires of the people who have
gathered here.
The governor also lauded the dedication and work being done by the Dumka district
administration during the Shravani Mela.
Those present in Dumka also included DC Mukesh Kumar, SP Kaushal Kishore and
other senior officials.
After offering prayers the Governor later left for Dumka where she would be hoisting
the national flag on the occasion of the nation’s 72nd Independence Day tomorrow.
