Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Sep 20 2016 5:41PM Jallikattu enthusiasts burn portraits of Soundarya RajinikanthTiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, Sep 20 (UNI) Protesting against the appointment of Soundarya, younger daughter of Tamil film superstar Rajnikanth as brand ambassador of Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), the activists of Tamilar Veera Vilayattu Meetpu Kazhagam today burnt her portraits and demanded her to step down from the post, as the AWBI was instrumental for the ban on “Jallikattu” (taming of bulls) events) in the state. The agitators led by T Rajesh, Coordinator of the Kazhagam shouted slogans and burnt the photos of Soundarya near the Tiruchirapalli Railway Junction. They asked her to dissociate herself from AWBI, as it is working against the Tamils’ culture. Rajesh told mediapersons here that they are planning to meet Rajinikanth, to urge him to advise her to step down from the post.
