Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jul 14 2016 10:21PM JACSO asked Centre and Meghalaya govt to stop proposed uranium miningShillong, Jul 14 (UNI) Meghalaya's anti-Uranium mining lobby today asked the Union and ths state to put a "full-stop" on the proposed uranium mining in the state.The anti-mining group under the banner of the Joint Action Committee of Social Organisations (JACSO) has also submitted letters addressed to Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL) on this issue. The JACSO said the proposed construction of the two-lane road project from Nongstoin to Mawthabah was aimed at to facilitate uranium mining as per the notification of the MoRTH.
