J&K HC gives 2-hr relaxation to govt teachers for private coaching

Jammu, Jun 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir High Court today gave two hours relaxation to the government teachers in imparting private coaching before and after school timings.
Teachers of various government schools, who go to private institutions to impart coaching, had filed a petition challenging the government order whereby prohibition was imposed on private tuition by Government teachers, alleging that the prohibition is totally illegal, without jurisdiction and power, violation of judgment.
Vacation Judge, Jammu and Kashmir High Court at its Jammu Wing, Justice B S Walia, after hearing advocates, observed that it conferred right on Government to grant permission to teachers and doctors to engage themselves by way of self employment or in the form of accepting part time employment in private coaching centres two hours before the opening of school and two hours after closing the schools.
