J&K CEO announces schedule for revision of Municipal Electoral Rolls

Jammu, Mar 2 (UNI) The Chief Electoral Officer Shantmanu today announced to revise and update the electoral rolls for the forthcoming general elections to the Municipal Corporations and Municipal Councils and Committees with reference to January 1, 2016 as qualifying date.
Accordingly a revision schedule of the rolls has been issued for the information of general public as well as political parties.
‘’Persons who are permanent residents of the state and are “ordinarily residents” of the area and who have completed 18 years of age as on January 1, 2016 shall be eligible for registration in the Municipal Electoral Rolls,’’ said the spokesman.
