New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived here for a historic visit that is going to give a major boost to the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Breaking protocol Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the visiting dignitary and his wife Sara Netanyahu.
Ariel Sharon was the first Israeli Prime Minister to visit India in 2003, while Narendra Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel last year.
Both the leaders shook hands warmly smiling and held each other tight for a while.
During the six-day visit of Israeli Prime Minister, cooperation in areas of agriculture, water, defence, food industry, science and technology, trade, innovation would be on top of agenda.
Mr Netanyahu is also accompanied by 130-member business delegation who will be keen to make business engagement with Indian counterparts.
