Irked BJP to go for lodging of FIRs against UP CM, police

Lucknow, Aug 25 (UNI) Irked with the police high-handedness and later lodging of FIR against senior leaders including MPs and legislators during yesterday's demonstration, Uttar Pradesh BJP is contemplating to submit an application to the police for registering of counter FIRs against chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and state police.
" UP has turned totally into a 'Andher Nagri, Chaupat Raja' where criminals are roaming free and all actions were against political activists who have democratic rights to agitate in a peaceful manner," said BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya,who was himself injured in the yesterday's demonstration held over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Mr Maurya, told UNI here today, that the party would lodge FIR against the CM and state police officials for the atrocities against the BJP leader and workers. More than 250 BJP workers including 100 hospitalised were injured in the police lathicharge.
