IPL: Gujarat Titans to bowl first against Delhi Capitals

IPL: Gujarat Titans to bowl first against Delhi Capitals

New Delhi, April 24 (UNI) In a much-anticipated IPL showdown at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Wednesday, Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first against Delhi Capitals.
With the stadium known for its dewy conditions, the decision to chase could prove crucial in the latter stages of the match.
Delhi Capitals' captain, Rishabh Pant, shared his thoughts on the pitch, remarking, "Losing the toss might just be in our favour today. We would have chosen to bat first anyway. The pitch seems a tad slower than our last game, and the looming dew could swing the game either way."
Pant made two pivotal changes to his squad, sidelining David Warner to pave the way for Shai Hope, and Sumit Kumar stepping in for Lalit Yadav.
On the Gujarat Titans' side, skipper Shubman Gill exuded confidence in his team's chasing prowess, saying, "We're keen to chase today. The pitch appears favourable, and our recent track record with chasing gives us an edge."
Despite marking his 100th IPL appearance, Gill underscored the importance of the present match over personal milestones. The Titans have opted to stick with their winning combination from the previous match.
