Intl Symposium on new technologies for urban held at IIIT, Hyd

Hyderabad, Dec 12 (UNI) An international symposium on new technologies for urban safety of mega cities was inaugurated at IIIT, Hyderabad on Wednesday by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy and Prof Kimiro Meguro of University of Tokyo.
The symposium was being jointly organised by IIIT and University of Tokyo and for the next three days is attended by experts and students of different disciplines of engineering and disaster management from several countries.
Speaking on the occasion, NVS Reddy stated that each mega city is bigger than many countries in terms of population, skill sets and wealth and that it is absolutely essential to safeguard cities from natural and manmade disasters.
