International Theatre festival opens

Thrissur, Jan 20 (UNI) The tenth edition of the International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFOK) began in Thrissur, Kerala on Saturday with a spectacular presentation of ''Palestine year zero'', a play from Paletine.
Kerala Agriculture Minister V S Sunil Kumar who inaugurated the 10-day festival at the Regional Theatre, said the government would construct a cultural complex in the heart of town at a cost of Rs 70 crore.
Theatre enthusiasts in India and abroad are expected to descend the cultural capital to witness 16 acclaimed plays from across the globe with this year’s theme being “Reclaiming the Margins” as it dedicated to isolated, excluded, alienated, or pushed to the edges of the society. Many voices that went unheard hitherto are sought to be projected through the plays, organisers of festival , said.
