Injury scare for Bhuvi, physios to take a call: Bharat Arun

Injury scare for Bhuvi, physios to take a call: Bharat Arun

Chennai, Dec 13 (UNI) There was an injury scare for Indian

seam bowler Bhuvaneshwar Kumar's ahead of the 3-match

ODI series beginning against West Indies here on Sunday

and bowling coach Bharat Arun said the physios will take a

call.

Talking to reporters after Team India's practice session

at the Chepauk stadium here today, he said 'the physios

are taking a call'.

'They will be giving a press release later in the evening

after the assessment', he added

Though the nature of the injury was yet to be made official,

the selectors were waiting to get a final word from the team

management before announcing a replacement for him.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is likely to become the second player

after Shikhar Dhawan (leg injury) to drop out of the squad.

One of the three bowlers, Navdeep Saini, Khaleel Ahmed and

Shardul Thakur is likely to be chosen as a replacement.

The injury scare was seen as yet another setback for

Bhuvneshwar, for whom injuries have become a constant

in the recent past.

During the World Cup, he limped out of the crucial match

against Pakistan in Manchester due to a hamstring strain

after bowling just 2.4 overs.

Though he made a comeback in the semi-finals, but he had

missed the recent home series against South Africa and

Bangladesh due to a niggle.
