Infighting between Maken - Deora escalates over praising Kejriwal

New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) The differences in Congress over the third consecutive victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and praise on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Monday, turned into an all out war of words between leaders.
While former Union Minister Ajay Maken 'advised' senior Maharashtra Congress leader Milind Deora to leave the party, instead of 'propagating half baked truths', the latter responded that Mr Maken was in favour of the alliance with the AAP.
Mr Maken's response came after Mr Deora praised Mr Kejriwal and his government for its performance on Sunday.
"Sharing a lesser known and welcome fact — the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government doubled its revenues to Rs 60,000 crore and maintained a revenue surplus over the last 5 years. Food for thought: Delhi is now one of India’s most fiscally prudent governments", Mr Deora had stated while sharing a video of the Delhi Chief Minister.
In a response to this tweet, Mr Maken, who was also the former Delhi assembly speaker had said that "Brother, you want to leave Congress, please do, then propagate half baked facts" and stated that revenue collection was much higher when the Congress was in power in Delhi.
Mr Deora, however, did not mince his criticism on the Delhi leader and responded, "brother, I would never undermine Sheila Dikshit’s stellar performance as Delhi Chief Minister. That’s your speciality.
But it’s never too late to change! Instead of advocating an alliance with AAP, if only you had highlighted Sheila ji’s achievements, Congress would have been in power today".
Earlier too, Mr Deora had criticised PC Chacko, the then AICC in-charge of Delhi, for his remarks against Sheila Dikshit that the Late Chief Minister was responsible for the grand old party's dismal performance since 2013.
Responding to Mr Chacko, the Mumbai Congress leader had said, "Sheila Dikshit ji was a remarkable politician & administrator. During her tenure as Chief Minister, Delhi was transformed and Congress was stronger than ever. Unfortunate to see her being blamed after her death. She dedicated her life to INC India and the people of Delhi".
Mr Chacko and DPCC president Subhash Chopra had resigned their respective posts, taking moral responsibility of the party's debacle.
The Congress did not win a single seat in the 70-member Delhi assembly in the 2015 and recently held polls, where AAP bagged 62 and BJP won eight seats.
