Indian short film wins Nespresso Talents award in Cannes

Cannes, May 18 (UNI) 'Seed Mother', a three-minute Indian film on the inspiring story of Maharashtra's biodiversity champion Rahibai Soma Popere, has won the Nespresso Talents award in Cannes.
Directed by Mumbai-based filmmaker Achyutanand Dwivedi, the film bagged the third prize at the Nespresso Talents, part of the Critic's Week parallel programme of the Cannes film festival.
'Seed Mother', which tells the story of Popere's movement to preserve indigenous seeds, was among 371 entries received from 46 countries in an international competition announced in February this year. The Nespresso Talents, which was instituted four years ago, promotes innovation in young filmmakers. The theme of the competition this year was, 'We Are What We Eat.'
