Indian Panorama opens at IFFI in Goa

Panaji, Nov 21 (UNI) Indian Panorama at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) began here on Thursday.
It was inaugurated by Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare.
Indian Panorama began with the screening of Abhishek Shah directed Gujarati movie ‘Hellaro’ in feature film category and Ashish Pandey directed Kashmiri short-movie ‘Nooreh’ in non-feature film segment.
Gujarati film ‘Hellaro’ deals with the suppression and liberation of a young woman from the shackles of patriarchal mandates in the Rann of Kutch in mid 1970s.
Kashmiri short film Nooreh depicts life of an eight-year old girl caught in crossfire between India and Pakistan along our western border.
Twenty six feature films and 15 non-feature films will be screened over the next eight days in the Indian Panorama Section at this year’s IFFI.
Indian Panorama, which represents finest films from across the country, has proved to be an excellent platform for promoting regional cinema and talented filmmakers.
Cast and crew of both opening films - Hellaro and Nooreh - were felicitated on the occasion.
Jury members of both feature and non-feature film categories were also felicitated at the function.
