New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) The Indian Navy on Friday responded to another piracy attack by intercepting an Iranian fishing vessel, Al Kamar 786, that was boarded by nine armed pirates, the Indian Navy posted on X.
The vessel was hijacked on late Thursday evening, about 90 nm south-west of Socotra. After receiving the inputs, the Indian Navy diverted its two naval ships deployed in the Arabian Sea for maritime security operations to intercept the hijacked FV.
According to the Indian Navy, the vessel has reportedly been boarded by nine armed pirates. The operation is currently underway to rescue the hijacked FV and its crew.
