India, WHO sign landmark agreement for Global promotion of yoga, ayurveda

New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) The AYUSH ministry and the World Health Organisation (WHO) have inked a historic Project Collaboration Agreement (PCA) for promoting the quality and safety of service provision in traditional medicine that will provide for the first time, WHO benchmark document for training in yoga and practice in Ayurveda, Unani and Panchakarma.
The PCA was signed by AYUSH Secretary Ajit M Sharan and WHO Assistant Director General, Health Systems and Innovations Marie Kieny, at the WHO headquarters in Geneva yesterday, in the presence of AYUSH Minister of State (Independent Charge) Shripad Yesso Naik and WHO Director-General Dr Margaret Chan.
