India, China set to open new BMP, Hotline at DGMO level

New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) Stressing that the cooperation on the military front is on upward trajectory, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag today disclosed that the two sides are set to open one more Border Meeting Post (BMP) with a hotline, to be operationalised soon at the Director General of Military operations.
Addressing a press conference here on the eve of Army Day, Gen Suhag said in the recent past, a number of confidence building measures have been initiated.
"Two new BMPs have been opened last year- one at DBO (Daulat Beg Oldi) and another at Kibitu (in Nagaland). A survey has been conducted to open one BMP in central sector at Barahuti (in Uttrakhand). Hotlines have been established to connect these BMPs. There will be a Hotline between DGMOs of the two sides," he said.
