In spite of spike in COVID-19 cases, Goa Airport witnesses increase in passenger footfalls

Panaji, Aug 18 (UNI) In spite rising number of COVID-19 cases, Goa International Airport reported rise in the footfalls since June 2020. Airports Authority of India (AAI) termed the development as signs of return of normalcy and said it aimed at bringing civil aviation in the country to normal as soon as possible.
In a tweet, Airport Authority of India (AAI) said, ''AAI's Goa Airport @aaigoaairport has witnessed rising passenger footfall since Jun'20. #AAI and all its airports are committed to provide safe and secure air travel in the current times of #COVID19. #TheBrighterSide #indiaflieshigh.''
''Goa Airport @aaigoaairport saw steady rise in flight movement since Apr'20. From 27 flights in Apr to nearly 12 times that no. in Jul these are signs of normalcy returning. In the wake of #COVID19, we aim to bring Indian Civil Aviation back to normal, as soon as possible,'' it said.
