Hyderabad-based EV startup Gravton launches electric bike ‘Quanta’, priced at Rs 90k

Hyderabad, Jun 28 (UNI) Hyderabad-based startup EV brand , Gravton on Monday announced the launching of its first all-new electric bike ‘Quanta,’ which is a real alternative to fossil fuel vehicles, and it will run 800 kms at Just Rs 80.
Priced at Rs 99,000, the bike can run upto 120 km in a single charge and costs Rs 80 for running 800 km, said Mr Parshuram, Founder and CEO of Gravton Motors through a virtual press conference.
The electric vehicle is being designed and manufactured in Nacharam, outskirts of the city and the company is planning to set up another facility in the EV Cluster of Telangana in the near future as the discussions are going on with the state government, he said.
Invested Million dollars for the facility, he said the current production capacity of the facility was 2,000 vehicles per month and will scale up 5,000 vehicles by the end of 2021.
Derived on the principles of sustainability and ‘Atmanirbhar’ or a ‘self-reliant’ India, Quanta is designed from the ground up with indigenously designed and developed components, he said Gravton one of the only few EV brands manufacturing with the highest number of parts in India, he claimed.
The ideology of building an electric vehicle was primarily based on a thought to develop a sustainable mobility solution that is suited for the Indian roads, he said Quanta comes with World’s first Rib caged chassis designed to give agility and safety to the battery compartment from theft and accident.
Not preferable to ride the bike in flooded water, Mr Parshuram said the chassis geometry and fine-tuned suspension help to maneuver the vehicle with ease and comfort in city traffic and even on unpaved road conditions, thus offering the rider a rejoicing experience and exhilarating performance of Quanta.
The vehicle comes with 3 kWh Li-ion detachable battery and swap-friendly chassis that can accommodate two batteries, offering the rider a 320 km travel range, he said the top speed of the vehicle is 70 kmph and is suitable for countryside and rough terrain as well.
It also plans to set up its battery swapping infrastructure at metro stations, he said the battery comes with a three years warranty; the bike itself has 15 years longevity.
In terms of dealerships, it plans to have four showrooms in Hyderabad and plans to start delivering the bike by October, he said.
However in the second phase, the company would set up swapping stations once 2,500 bikes have been sold, he informed.
Gravton’s SES (Swap EcoSystem) offers convenience with an intelligent Urban Mobility Solution and with SES Ecosystem, the rider can locate the nearest Gravton’s battery station, order an extra battery and easily summon and swap the battery at any given location, he added.
As a promotional offer, the company is offering the Gravton charging station free of cost to limited users.
