Hyderabad: Atumobile launches electric bike Atum 1.0 at affordable price

Hyderabad, Sep 1 (UNI) Atumobile Pvt Ltd, a Hyderabad-based electric vehicles start-up, on Tuesday announced the launching of Atum 1.0, a new generation electric bike.
The cost-effective, performance-oriented, café-racer styled electric bike is specifically designed for the needs of the upwardly mobile Indian consumer, the company said in a release here.
The all new Atum 1.0, with a base price of Rs. 50,000, redefines e-mobility with its sturdy build and a retro, vintage design and is available across India through Atumobile’s online portal.
Powered by a portable lithium-ion battery pack, that charges in just under 4 hours, Atum 1.0 offers a range of 100 km ph in a single charge, it claimed.
The electric bike comes with a 2-year battery warranty and is perfect for kids, adults, and elders for city commute and it is avaible in a wide range of colours.
It has been developed using indigenous parts and the greenfield manufacturing facility, located at Patancheru in Telangana, has an annual production capacity of 15000 Atumobiles with an additional capacity of 10000 electric bikes depending on market demand.
Atum 1.0 is approved as a low speed bike, by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), which makes it ready for commercial use.
Additionally, Atum 1.0 does not need a registration and the person driving it does not need a license.
Speaking at the launch, Atumobile Pvt Ltd Founder Vamsi Gaddam, the man who envisioned the electric bike, said, ''After three years of hard work and a vision to introduce a sustainable way to commute and this vehicle is suited to address the ambitions of Indian customers, while serving purpose, style, and comfort.
''With zero emissions, we are confident that this product will captivate the market with its sustainable solution for short distance travel,'' he added.
Atum 1.0 comes with a lightweight portable battery pack of 6 kgs. Its easy to carry design allows the users to charge it anywhere using a normal 3-pin socket.
Atum 1.0 can cover 100 km in a single charge. It is very cost-effective to operate as it consumes around one unit per charge, which translates to Rs. 7-10 per day (for 100 kilometers) as compared to the traditional ICE bikes, which cost almost Rs 80-100 a day (for 100 km).
At present, the customers can book the bike on the company’s portal due to pandemic and the company would open its outlets at the important cities across the country soon.
The electric bike will be available in the market likely from Dussehra or Deepawali, the company said.
