Huge corruption in ‘Namami Gange’ programme: Rajendra Singh

Patna, Dec 13 (UNI) Noted environmentalist and Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh, also known as ‘Waterman of India,’ today alleged that the implementation of ‘Namami Gange’ programme, plagued by large scale corruption, would not cure Ganga from its alarming level of pollution.
Mr Singh, the winner of the Stockholm Prize, also known as the Nobel Prize in Water, in 2015 told UNI here that Narendra Modi, who had called himself ‘son of Ganga’ before becoming Prime Minister of the country simply disregarded his own words after he reached the top political post.
“The Centre has allocated Rs 20,000 crore for Namami Gange project but I know very well the people who are minting money in the implementation of programme,” he remarked.
