HRD approves Rs 250 cr for STARS to fund 500 science projects

New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on National Science Day stated that an amount of Rs 250 cr has been approved under Scheme for Translational & Advanced Research in Science (STARS) to fund about 500 science projects on competitive basis.

Mr Javadekar shared this information on Twitter. "Greetings to all scientists on this #NationalScienceDay. Happy to announce approval of Scheme for Translational & Advanced Research in Science #STARS for Rs.250 Cr to fund about 500 science projects on competitive basis."

The project will be coordinated by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.

"Remembering the great Indian physicist, Bharat Ratna Sir C V Raman and his contributions on #NationalScienceDay today," the HRD minister tweeted.

"Our efforts to improve quality of education in #HE Institutions are bearing fruit as 20 Indian Institutions figure in the global top 100 Institutions in the subject wise categories as per #QS @TopUni."
