HP Cabinet Minister Karan Singh passes away

Shimla, May 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Ayurveda and Cooperation Minister Karan Singh died at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, early this morning. He was suffering from lungs and liver ailment, family sources said. Singh, 59, was younger brother of BJP former MP and Kullu MLA Maheshwar Singh and scion of erstwhile Kullu royal dynasty. He is survived by wife and a son. The cremation is likely to take place at Kullu later in the day. He was elevated as Cabinet Minister in the Virbhadra Singh Government in September 2015 and also served as minister in the Prem Kumar Dhumal Government between 1998-2003. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Members of his Cabinet, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries and other Congress leaders condoled the demise of Singh. UNI ML JW SV 0950
