HJS, Sanatan Sanstha, local organizations undertake relief-drive for flood - affected people of Chiplun

Mumbai, Jul 30 (UNI) Few areas in the city and rural parts have been badly hit in the recent torrential rains and the consequent floods at Chiplun in Ratnagiri. The floodwater entered many houses causing damage to all household material stocked by the people. Considering as their social duty, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha and other local organisations have come forward to help the flood-affected people and they are distributing food grains to them. Oil, rice, flour, spices, onions, potatoes, candles, match-boxes etc have been distributed to more than 2000 people so far.
According to Sunil Ghanwat, Organizer of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh,
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, there are, however, difficulties in the distribution of things in some areas of Chiplun such as Muradpur Bhoiwadi, Muradpur Sai Mandir, Shankarwadi and parts of the interior Chiplun such as Dadar, Kadwad etc as two bridges have collapsed. Help is, therefore, being reached to them through alternate ways. The displaced families affected in land-slides at Owali (Sukivaliwadi) and Dadar, Dadar Kadwad etc. were also helped under this relief-drive.
