Hezbollah says Aleppo could pave way to political solution

BEIRUT, Dec 23 (Reuters) The leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah movement, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said today the fall of Aleppo to Syrian government control had opened up a new stage in the conflict and could pave the way to a political solution.
"In the upcoming period it is necessary to focus on reinforcing the city of Aleppo and securing it," he said, speaking in a televised live address.
Hezbollah troops are fighting alongside Syrian government forces against rebels opposed to President Bashar al-Assad's rule, and against Islamic State in Syria.
