Heavy rainfall, thunderstorm predicted over southern parts of India

Pune, Oct 28 (UNI) Heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning very likely at isolated places over south Kerala, Mahe, south Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during next 24 hours.
In view of significant reduction in rainfall activity, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country today. Simultaneously, the northeast monsoon has commenced over extreme south peninsular India.
