Kolkata, April 18 (UNI) India has seen a rapid rise in cases of liver disease in recent years with health experts expressing concern over rising cases of Liver and Gastric diseases in the Eastern part of the country.
Especially in the Eastern and North East region, fatty liver disease is becoming a major cause of concern. Liver disease is spreading like wildfire, with one out of every five persons being impacted.
India now accounts for a startling 268,580 liver-related deaths annually (3.17% of all deaths), which accounts for 18.3% of the 2 million liver-related deaths worldwide, the experts said at a media conference.
