HC directs CB-CID to file status report in Sathankulam custodial deaths

Madurai, Jul 9 (UNI) The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday directed the Crime Branch CID (CB-CID) Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar, who is the investigation officer (IO) of the custodial deaths of a father-son duo, P Jayaraj and J Bennicks, to file a status report by July 28 on the actions taken so far in the case.

A Division Bench comprising Justices M Sathyanarayanan and P Rajamanickam during the course of hearing of a suo motu public interest litigation, passed the orders.
