Haryana police surprise raids at nine places in state

Chandigarh, Jun 24 (UNI) With a view to ensuring availability of unadulterated and quality food articles such as ghee, Haryana Police recently conducted surprise raids at nine places, including Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Hisar, Bhiwani and Jind.
Stating this here today, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Mohd. Akil, said that during the raids, several samples were taken and shops sealed with the assistance of officials of Food and Supply Department.
He said that the obtained samples have been sent to the laboratories concerned for obtaining their detailed analysis reports. Strict legal action would be taken against the persons concerned if the laboratory analysis reports indicate the existence of any adulterated and spurious food articles. Haryana Police would continue to take pro-active steps to ensure safety, security and well-being of the people.
