Haryana implementing special project of Rs 435.23 cr in 36 blocks to encourage micro irrigation

Chandigarh, Feb 17 (UNI) Haryana government is implementing a special project of Rs 435.23 crore in 36 over exploited and critical blocks falling under 13 districts to encourage micro irrigation and recharge of ground water in the state.
Stating this here today, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare department Dr Abhilaksh Likhi said various activities by different departments such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, Irrigation and Water Resources, Canal Area Development Authority and Forest were implementing under the project.
He said subsidies under mirco irrigation under these blocks have already been enhanced to 85 per cent and the cap of five hectares of land has already been removed.
Dr Likhi said special campaign would be organized to reach out small and marginal farmers through gosthies in uncovered villages of these 36 blocks.
The 36 blocks are Badhra, Behal, Kairu, Loharu and Tosham in Bhiwani district, Tohana in Fatehabad, Farukhnagar, Pataudi, Sohana and Gurgaon in Gurugram, Guhla and Rajaund in Kaithal, Ladwa, Pehwa and Shahabad in Kurukshetra, Karnal in Karnal, Bapoli and Samalkha in Panipat, Rania and Ellenabad in Sirsa, Municipal Corporation of Faridabad and Ballabhgarh in Faridabad, Nangal Chaudhary, Narnaul, Kanina, Ateli and Mahendergarh in Mahendergarh, Khol in Rewari, Palwal, Hassanpur, Hathin and Hodal in Palwal and Jagadhri, Mustafabad, Radour and Sadhura in Yamunanagar.

HP govt to set up cow shelters in 11 districts
