Haryana govt decides to frame new policy for setting up research chairs

Chandigarh, Jun 24 (UNI) Haryana Government has decided to frame a new policy for the setting up of research chairs to commemorate the memory of prominent personalities in various universities of the state.
As per the new policy, big industrial and corporate houses or any other institution who intend to get a chair instituted in any university of the state in the name of any prominent personality would have to pay a specified amount to be fixed by the State Government.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of Higher Education Department held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal here today. The Chief Minister said that these research chairs would prove to be beneficial only when extensive research is carried out on the themes decided by the respective institutions.
