Guangdong rout Bayi 116-97 in CBA

Nanchang, Dec 5 (Xinhua) Yi Jianlian collected a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds, as defending champions Guangdong Southeast Tigers notched a 116-97 away win over Bayi Rockets in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Thursday.
Guangdong and Bayi tied 25-25 in the first quarter, while Bayi's Lei Meng hit three-pointers on consecutive possessions. However, Guangdong claimed a lead at 54-43 in the second quarter as Bayi committed eight turnovers.
Guangdong opened the second half with a 9-0 run and forced Bayi coach Wang Zhizhi to call a timeout. Shortly afterward, Bayi fought back in the middle of the third quarter, while Ning Hongyu scored 10 points, but Guangdong entered the last period with an 86-72 lead.
