Govt explores option for home delivery of petroleum products

New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) In an effort to ease out the queues at fuel pumps, the government is exploring an option for home delivery of petroleum products to consumers if they make a pre-booking.

In a series of tweets, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Options being explored where petro products may be door delivered to consumers on pre booking.”

About 350 million customers come to pumps every day, it said.

“This would help consumers avoid spending excessive time and long queues at fuel stations,” he added.

Annually Rs 25 billion rupees worth of transactions takes place at fuel stations.

The minister in a tweet also said, “The Petroleum Ministry neither endorses nor approves of move by small section of dealers to keep their petrol pumps closed on Sundays.”
