Governor of Sikkim conveys Children's Day greetings

Gangtok, Nov 13 (UNI) Governor of Sikkim, Ganga Prasad has conveyed his warm greetings to the children and the people of the State on the occasion of Children’s Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
In his message, the Governor said that the children arrive in this world in the most tender and vulnerable shape and size and continue to remain exclusively dependent for their growth, life sustenance and physical wellbeing on parents, caretakers and the society at large.
Celebrating Children’s Day, therefore, is about giving every child, his or her right to grow into a happy, healthy and educated citizen of the country. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru once said ‘ children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country’ This special occasion, therefore, should motivate every parent, guardian and the Nation to provide all possible opportunities to the children to grow with dignity.

As many as 58 58 percent electorate exercised their franchise during second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar

Patna, Apr 26 (UNI) Scorching heat appears to have affected polling percentage during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in five seats in Bihar, as only 58.58 percent electorate exercised their franchise compared to 62.92 percent in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, which is 4.34 percent less this year.
