Fund to prepare DPR for year-long water availability in Falgu river near Vishnupad temple

Patna, Nov 13 (UNI) Bihar government today sanctioned fund to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) to ensure year-long availability of water in Falgu river near Vishnupad temple in Gaya district.
Principal Secretary of Cabinet Coordination Department Dr Deepak Prasad said here today that a decision to this effect was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A fund of Rs 1.5 crore had been sanctioned to prepare DPR and also for administrative expenses in this regard, he added.
Dr Prasad said that fund of Rs one crore thirty thousand had also been sanctioned for administrative expenses in seeking a technical opinion from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, to find out reasons behind breakage coming up in embankment of Kamala Balan river. The department concerned had suggested for seeking an opinion from IIT Roorkee to find out reasons and the way out to solve the problem of breakage, he added.
Principal Secretary said that the cabinet had approved a proposal to give relief to owners who were defaulters for their failures in paying tax and also fines imposed on them. Owners of commercial vehicles and tractors would have the option to enjoy rebate if they paid the total amount in one go.
Tax defaulters of tractors and vehicles being used for agriculture purpose would have the option under the scheme to get regularised registration after payment of 30 per cent of fine slapped on them besides tax arrears if they had not paid for the last one year and it would be 50 per cent of fine if dues were not cleared for more than one year, he informed.
