New Delhi, Jun 13 (UNI) Fuel prices fell on Thursday after remaining unchanged for several days.

While petrol prices slipped by 8 paise per litre, diesel dropped by 7 to 8 paise per litre.

In Delhi, petrol retailed at Rs 70.35 per litre as against yesterday's Rs 70.43, while diesel costs Rs 64.33 per litre. On Wednesday diesel retailed at Rs 64.39 a litre.

In Mumbai, people have to shell out Rs 76.04 per litre for petrol which was Rs 76.12 yesterday. Diesel retailed at Rs 67.45 per litre against Rs 67.51 a litre on Wednesday.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, in Kolkata ,petrol was at Rs 72.61 per litre, a seven paise decrease from yesterday's Rs 72.68 a litre, while diesel costs Rs 66.25 per litre.

In Chennai, petrol retailed at Rs 73.08 per litre against yesterday's Rs 73.17 a litre while diesel costs Rs 68.05 per litre against Rs 68.11 on Wednesday.

In Noida, petrol was available at a price of Rs 70.27 per litre (Rs 70.33 p/l on Wednesday) and diesel costs Rs 63.74 per litre while yesterday it was Rs 63.80 p/l

In Gurugram, petrol was priced at Rs 70.79 a litre and diesel costs Rs 63.83 per litre.

As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.

The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.

The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight.
