Freedom fighter and ex-minister G Madegowda passes away

Mandya, Jul 17(UNI) Freedom fighter and veteran politician of Mandya G Madegowda passed away in a private hospital here, following age-related illness on Saturday night.
He was 94 and survived by four sons and daughter.
Madegowda, who served as Forest Minister in R. Gundurao-led Congress Government in the 1980s, was elected thrice from the then Kirugavalu Assembly segment in Mandya district. He was also elected as Lok Sabha MP from Mandya twice in 1989 and 1991.
