Nashik, Jul 24 (UNI) Minister for food, civil supplies and consumer protection Chhagan Bhujbal on Saturday said that free food grains and kerosene would be distributed by the state government to flood victims.
Heavy and unabated rainfall has battered the western Maharashtra and Konkan region, leading to floods in six districts in Maharashtra, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur, taking at least 136 lives so far.
Farmers in these area have suffered huge losses as houses, farms and roads have been washed away in many places.
