Food department conducts inspection at various sweet shops in Ranchi

Ranchi, Aug 2 (UNI) A team of district food safety department team conducted inspection across various shops selling sweets and other eatables ahead of Raksha Bandhan.
The district administration is taking all possible steps to check the sale of adulterated sweets.
A large quantity of sweets and snacks are sold on Raksha Bandhan which is observed with great fervour in the state.
On the directions of DC, a team of the food inspectors visited shops on various locations across the district and performed on-set chemical test on sweets.
The teams also collected samples of the sweets.
However, most of the shops had fresh stocks.
There was a minor surge in market activities as people stepped out of their homes to make purchases for the festival, but the usual buzz surrounding the market places on such occasions was missing due to Covid-19 pandemic.
