First-ever cricket tourney gets underway in Majuli island

Guwahati, Feb 3 (UNI) Majuli, the world’s largest inhabited river island, is hosting it’s first-ever cricket league, offering an opportunity for young talents of this island-district of Assam to hone and showcase their potentials.
The first intra-district tournament, organised by Majuli District Cricket Association, got underway on Tuesday, making it not just the first recognised cricket tourney in the district, but the first ever cricket competition in the district.
The tournament is being held at the Gormur Mini Stadium, with participation of 13 teams.
