Fire erupts at Dnipro hydroelectric power station after airstrikes in Ukraine

Moscow, Mar 22 (UNI) Ukrainian state-owned energy company Ukrhydroenergo said on Friday that the Dnipro hydroelectric power station and a dam located in Ukraine-controlled city of Zaporizhzhia had been hit by Russian strikes, adding that emergency services were working to extinguish the fire that erupted as a result.
"The fire at the plant is currently ongoing. Emergency services and power engineers are working at the site, overcoming the consequences of numerous air strikes," Ukrhydroenergo said in a statement.
There is no threat of the dam bursting, and the situation is under control, the statement read.
