Baghel was holding a door-to-door campaign for Pankhuri Pathak, Congress candidate from Noida constituency.
The concerned District Election Officer complained to Noida Police citing Election Commission orders, which prohibit five or more people from gathering at a venue for poll campaigns.
The Election Commission had prohibited mass political gatherings in pol- bound states to see rapid spread of coronavirus.
The FIR has been lodged under Sections 269 (acts spreading disease), 270 (spread of disease), 188 (disobedience of public order) and Sections of the Epidemic Act in Sector 113 police station of Noida.
Agra police has also registered a similar FIR against SP candidate Madhusudhan Sharma and his supporters for violating Covid norms. The candidate has reportedly performed a puja in a temple, violating the Covid-19 protocols.
