Finance panel chief praises Telangana schemes

Hyderabad, Feb 19 (UNI) The 15th Finance Commission Chairman H K Singh said on Tuesday that the development and welfare schemes launched by Telangana were a model to other states.

Mr Singh, who along with other members of the commission earlier discussed with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao various issues pertaining to the state, told reporters that the nascent state was developing at a faster rate.

He said in ease of doing business, Telanganag was among top two states in the country and the state government's schemes-TS-iPass (TS state Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System ) was a laudable scheme.

Mr Singh said that the Rythu Bandhu investment support scheme launched by the state which had instilled confidence in the farmers had also proved to be an example to other states.

He said in GSDP (Gross state Domestic Product) too Telangana was ahead of other states.

Mr Singh also lauded the state's 'Mission Baghiratha' scheme to supply safe drinking water to the people.
