Guwahati, Dec 03 (UNI) Following its screening at the 2nd National Children's Film Festival, 2016 in Jaipur, 'Hope', a short film by the students of NPS International School, Guwahati on two of their differently-abled colleagues, has been selected for screening at Sunlight International Film Festival, Germany. In a communiqué issued by Mr Andrei Mikhailov, Festival Director of Sunlight International Film Festival, Germany, to Mr JN Das, Founder and Chairman of NPS International School, Guwahati, Mr Mikhailov said Hope is one of the 15 best short films, out of 1,000 total entries received, which will be screened in Moscow, Russia on July 7-8, 2017. “The films will be screened at the 35 mm cinema theatre in Moscow. The Sunlight International Film Festival will showcase at least 10 feature films and 15 short films. Out of the official selections, an international jury will select one winner in each category. The festivities will culminate in the announcement of the winners of the 2017 SIFF at the Awards Ceremony on July 8 next year. Best Film will receive the SIFF Trophy,” Mr Mikhailov said. Earlier, Hope was screened in Jaipur City from November 14 -16, 2016. Hope is a story on how the management of NPS International School, Guwahati managed to bring joy to two differently-abled students, Amit and Madhurjya, and their family members as both of them cleared their CBSE Class XII Examinations, 2016 with flying colours. Amit secured 93.2 per cent marks in Humanities in the examination. Madhurjya also successfully cleared the JEE-Mains 2016 examination. Meanwhile, Mr JN Das, Founder and Chairman of NPS International School, Guwahati has lauded the effort of the students while making Hope.
