Enquiry reveals BSF ASI in Tripura had committed suicide

Agartala, Aug 17 (UNI) The BSF inquiry into the case of suspicious death of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), whose bullet-hit body was recovered on August 8 last at sentry post of Srimantapur Land Custom Station (LCS) in the western border of Tripura, has revealed that he had committed suicide due to personal problems.
According to BSF officials, ASI Krishna Murari Mishra of 145 battalion was on sentry duty at the post on the intervening night of August 7 and August 8 and committed suicide by firing shots with his service weapon.
“As per the procedure in vogue, the matter was reported to police who carried out spot verification and further investigation into the incident, but neither police detained any BSF jawan on duty in the area nor any of them absconded. The investigation has been carried out as per the standard protocol,” the officials stated.
