Eleven candidates in fray for Manipur poll

Imphal, Mar 27 (UNI) Eleven candidates have filed their nomination papers for the two Lok sabha seats in Manipur. Seven candidates filed their papers for the Inner Manipur seat, while four contestants have entered the race for the Outer Manipur constituency, Election Commission sources said on Wednesday.
For Inner Manipur those who submitted the papers included Education Minister, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam representing Indian National Congress(INC).
The other candidates were Maheshwar Thounaojam representing Republican Party of India - Athawale (RPI), Moirangthem Totomshana Nongshaba representing Rashtriya Janhit Sangharsh Party (RJSP); Haorungbam Sarat Singh - independent.
