New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) Enforcement Directorate (ED) attaches under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 11 immovable properties located in Bangalore and Mandya districts of Karnataka to the tune of Rs 1.92 crores of an executive engineer L. Raghu of National Highways in a corruption case, an official release said here on Saturday.
The central financial probe agency moves comes after the registration of an FIR and charge sheet filed by Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru against National Highways executive engineer L. Raghu for acquisition disproportionate assets during the period from 1987 to 2012.
Investigation conducted by ED revealed that the accused has illegally acquired 11 immovable properties in Bangalore and Mandya, districts of Karnataka while working as a public servant in various capacities. These immovable properties consisting of plots, residential & commercial properties worth Rs 1.92 crore were found generated out of Proceeds of Crime, hence they have been provisionally attached under PMLA.
