Hyderabad, Oct 21 (UNI) A 11-member Election Commission team arrived here on Monday on a three- day visit to undertake a comprehensive review on the preparedness for the Assembly Election on December 7 in Telangana.
Soon after the arrival of EC officials headed by Chief Election Commissioner O.P.Rawat, they held a detailed discussion with Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar and Senior Police Officials for a formal briefing on poll arrangements.
They also met representatives of recognised political parties at a star hotel and took their feedback, and according to sources, representatives of some political parties complained to the EC about irregularities in the electoral rolls.
During their three-day stay in the city, they will hold meeting with District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police during which the district election management and plans of respective districts will be presented before the EC.
Every aspect related to elections including preparedness of authorities, training, EVMs, rolls, coordination with law and order and excise departments for each district will also be reviewed.
Before concluding their visit,the EC will also meet the state administration including the Chief Secretary and officials from the Income Tax department.
