New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) The Election Commission on Wednesday found BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh assembly Gopal Bhargav violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and 'advised him to be more careful in future while addressing public meetings.
"The statement made by Gopal Bhargav violated the provisions of MCC and advises him to be more careful in future while addressing public in any meeting, public processions, public rallies, road shows an interviews, public utterances in media (electronic, print, social media) etc in connection with ongoing bye-elections", the Commission said in its order.
The poll body was acting on a complaint filed by Congress state convener JP Dhanopia, claimed that Mr Bhargava had said that the Congress candidate Kantilal Bhuria 'represents Pakistan', in an election rally at Jhabua assembly constituency, on September 30.
