DYFI deplores attacks on campuses, to conduct mass congregations

Kozhikode, Feb 28 (UNI) Deploring attacks on campuses across the country, the pro-CPI (M) Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) today said it would conduct mass congregations in varsities from March 6 to 10 and other forms of agitations against the move.
Talking to reporters here DYFI President Adv. Mohammed Riyaz said denigrating Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of a Kargil martyr, through social media for protesting against attack by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Ramjas College in Delhi, was shameful.
He said Gurmehar was targeted as she had posted her photo on social media stating that she was not afraid of the ABVP and ''I am not alone and every student of the country is with me.''
